How did it all begin?

How did this all begin?

Back in 2006, a group of students from Our Lady's of Lourdes College, Greenhills school Drogheda, presented results of their research on the impact of the 3D's - Drink, Drugs and Depression - on young people.  They identified that young people need a safe drug and alcohol free environment to meet up with their friends and engage in hobbies.  It has been a long and difficult road to get this far but now our vision for a dedicated Youth Cafe has finally becoming a reality!

The group of students at Greenhills College were part of The Young Social Innovators Group (YSI).  The Young Social Innovators is Irelands social awareness and active citizenship and education programme for 15 - 18 year old teenagers.  Its main goal is to get teenagers involved in action which helps improve the lives of others in their community.
